Forgotten We

We are lonely. So lonely. We go to see our dream men in movies, But always come home empty Because the actress got him And we didn't. We're so very lonely. Plain, normal us. Never get a second glance by any man, Never get a first by those we like. We are like shadows; We are there, yet our presence is not seen. We exist as background, nothing more, Nothing less. We live, we love, we laugh, Yet we are overlooked. Beauty may only be skin deep But as we live in a world That doesn't look too hard, Those who are normal, plain, Just nice, Are forgotten.
